The Wine Estate we visited in Douro was very special in so many ways. We had a delightful day eating and learning about the wine making process. Our driver was an added bonus.The day after, we had so much fun riding bikes and seeing the Douro Valley from such a high vantage point. Nazare was the best way to start our trip: gorgeous weather, gorgeous day, stunning views, amazing food along the beach, great shopping. When we got to our hotel, we were very impressed with the staff, accommodations, bar and restaurant. The river cruise in Douro was amazind, what a lovely day. We motored up the river with our guide, sitting on the deck, drinking the wine he offered us. The Quinta where we stoped is a beautiful winery with an amazing view of the river. The tour was very educational. Lunch was delicious and so was the wine. All the staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant.

We had a wonderful time in Portugal! We loved the hotel in Douro, it had wonderful meals. We also loved both outings and the guides. We also really enjoyed the sunset sail, both the captain and the boat were terrific. We had a great time in Comporta: loved the hotel and the horseback riding on the beach. All in all, a 10 plus trip.

We ate like kings and queens while enjoying some amazing seafood.

We thoroughly enjoyed the trip! Everything was seamless and we especially loved the lunch spot in Cascais. We also loved the sidecar tour, the sunset sail and the Lisbon tour.

We returned from such a memorable and wonderful trip! It was such a special time, and we thoroughly enjoyed each moment! The hotels were fabulous! We also thoroughly enjoyed the day excursion to Sintra and Cascais and the lunch overlooking the ocean was delightful! We are so grateful for all that you and your team did to make it so incredibly special!

Portugal was fantastic. We loved the way our itinerary fell into place with Porto being first. Douro was absolutely worth spending time in person. The catamaran ride in Algarve was definitely my boat adventure of choice. Lisbon struck us as the hub of modern Portuguese culture. We’re really glad you helped us put this trip together.

I must say, the entire trip exceeded our expectations! Edgar kept checking in on us almost daily! He got us the best dinner reservation on our last night with a lovely couple who own this great restaurant in Lisbon. So overall, we loved everything and cannot wait to go back. You really were able to provide us with a vacation that we will never forget!! Thank you so much!

We have had a trip of a lifetime!!! Had a glorious boat tour of the Algarve yesterday. It was fabulous. The boat was the nicest in the harbor and they obviously go to great lengths keeping it clean. They had the most modern and comfortable amenities (on board and for off board (i.e paddle boards and food/champagne). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We did have an interesting dinner, one night in Lisbon at a private home of an art collector with a private chef. That was certainly a unique experience that we enjoyed. The private after hours tour of the Pena Palace was definitely a special opportunity. Overall, we had a great time and had an opportunity to see a lot, eat a lot of good food, and drink a lot of good wine.

We just wanted to thank you for an amazing trip. Everything was perfect. The properties were next level. The experiences were very unique, especially E-biking in the valley with an ex-marine as our guide. Two German Shepards from a local farm joined us almost the entire trip, they ran alongside us!

We wanted to let you know how happy we were with the vacation that you and your staff planned for us. Everything went extremely smoothly from having drivers meet us at various sites, take us to hotels, drop us off at restaurants, etc. Portugal is a marvelous country to visit because of the variety of architecture, culture and beautiful countryside but in particular the warmth of its people. After a wonderful day on the [Carvoeiro] beaches I went back home and relaxed by the pool... it exceeded my expectations!

This was our first time in Portugal, and TravelTailors made our experience quite unique! Our guide Adriana was great, very knowledgeable and flexible! We visited Portugal last July 2018. TravelTailors has perfectly arranged all our tours, transfers and hotels. We even visited some sites on the beaten path! All our guides were excellent and knowledgeable. We even had a bike tour in the Douro Valley which was AWESOME! What a marvelous time we had in Portugal!

Everything went very good in our trip and we really enjoyed it. Peneda-Gerês is absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking, Viana do Castelo and Ponte de Lima are two beautiful little towns with the most lovable traditional streets, where its a joy to walk trough. The people are very friendly and welcoming and the food its unbelievable. I wanted to thank the whole team of TravelTailors all the support received during our stay in Portugal. You were restless!

We were amazed! Everything went absolutely perfect, the sailboat ride was amazing and the northeast of Azores is magical. Ribeira Quente is wonderful and Lagoa do Fogo is completely breathtaking! We have to thank you for all the work you have done. We loved all the planning and preparation of te trio. Your availability, attention, sympathy and professionalism are faultless.

The best moments in Portugal are all related with food starting with Lisbon Food Tour, O’Faia and Fado, O Solar dos Nunes, Sintra Pena Palace, Cascais lunch and ending in Nazaré lunch at Casa Pires (the best). Tour guide in Porto also recommended Cervejaria Brasão for lunch and Adega de Sao Nicolau for dinner - both fantastic. A part from that, all hotels and breakfasts were pretty good. Definitely would recommend it to those thinking about visiting Portugal!

It was a great trip and was very pleased that Paula stayed with us the whole time. Therefore I could enjoy myself knowing everything was in good hands. Choice of restaurants was great, all different and beautiful places. The program on Friday was very nice and we got a good idea of Portugal (and that in 1 day). The fado performance was great, everybody appreciated this and for a lot it was the first time! Hotel was very nice, clean, large rooms and very cosy sportsbar. Friendly personnel and flexible with opening hours sports bar. All details were taken care of, even during dinners. Good cooperation regarding departure times busses, communication via the flipchart and giving suggestions for nightlife. So, very very pleased with you Paula. You made our trip even nicer and we felt very taken care of! Even in the few days we spent in Lissabon besides attending the Websummit, I really feel like we got to see a lot of Lissabon and its surrounding. It felt like true luxury to get to sit down in a bus and get shown around and being dropped off at all these pretty locations. One of the highlights for me definitely was the tram tour and the walking tour through the city. I really had a good time!! I cannot think of any recommendations anymore. It was great, an A+! Paula is the best, by the way!!!

The two days with first Nuno and then Manuel were amazing! They are so knowledgeable and such excellent drivers! We could relax and learn from them. They engaged intellectually so beautifully so we had meaningful discussions. And they were so considerate of us and our infirmities. We could not have been more pleased. Those were peak experiences. Keep up the fine work! You handled things perfectly. I will be telling friends and family about you and TravelTailors. We are so enthusiastic and will want them to be so beautifully cared for.

The most memorable part of the trip was the private wine tour which was absolutely perfect. The Carvalhas Vineyard was spectacular and very informative. Their dedication to the development of their property and their wine is very impressive. The visit to the Vinho Douro region was an unforgettable experience. There is little that we would change on our trip.

It totally exceeded our expectations. The Douro Tour in particular was unforgettable. I would recommend it for the food and the guide!

The best memories I keep from this trip are the boat trip, the lunch at Museu do Arroz and the Convento de Cristo (Tomar). A special thank you to Catarina, our Guide. She is a special person.

Dear Paula, Thank you for making our travel arrangements during our trip to Lisbon. We had a wonderful time. Each activity was well chosen to give us a great perspective of Lisbon and Portugese culture. Having Nuno as our tour guide added a great deal to our understanding of the culture and history and to getting an overview of the city. He was engaging and knowlegable and his tours were well planned. In hindsight, we would have wanted to spend time in the gardens of Sintra, but we didnt verbalize this to him. We think this would be a good addition. He was great! The Fado and dinner was a highlight of the trip. The food was authentic and very good. A perfect way to spend a beautiful evening in Lisbon. The sunset cruise was a nice way to see the city from another perspective and the excellent weather made the evening special. The Hotel Bario Alto was great- a little pricey, but we loved the location and the staff was excellent. Our plans to visit Portugal started with a switch of out time share into Madera and we added the stay in Lisbon to the itinerary. We had been to Portugal 30 years ago but never to Lisbon and we promised ourselves that we would return. We hope to return to Portugal in the not too distant future. We want to explore Porto and the north next time. Again, thanks for making the arrangements.

PORTUGAL….a diamond in the rough …at least that was my last recollection from 8th grade geography & history…. We quickly saw this beautiful country transformed into a highly polished gem….the likes of which resembled the Hope Diamond. A last minute change of plans found us looking for a break after a med cruise out of Barcelona…we contacted paula of travel tailors, and she instantly crafted a private tour that captured our interest and satisfied our travel budget. Paula s custom tailor skills put together an interesting itinerary, covering the highlights of each place of interest…professional guides, Marco Noivo and Susana Bras, blended in by contributed their expert historical knowledge and background…I can say, I never had such an interesting and exciting lecture in history….i remember vasco de gama, but I actually touched his tomb! Sleeping and eating accommodations also exceeded my expectations…the local restaurants were cozy and provided the ambiance for a relaxing meal and light conversation…..and the roasted suckling pig made each step of the way a memorable experience. Paula, you and your expert staff are to be commended. Your team has made our trip to Portugal an interesting and memorable event…it will certainly bring us back in the future…..i have already recommended friends to contact you, and will continue to do so in the future. A number of people asked us - Why Portugal? and we said Why not?… it is a beautiful country, great people, excellent food and the wine…oh the wine is just great! We loved Porto and it was a great thing that the airline planned a strike for the first few days. The changes to our itinerary were just right since we got to see a bit more of this beautiful country. Travel Tailors put together a great itinerary for us and went out of their way to make sure our vacation was perfect. They stayed in contact even when we were in Portugal, from meeting us at the airport and sending us off. Our vacation was effortless and we thank Paula and Travel Tailors for this!!!

All the trip planning was excellent, which made it pleasant. It was all very well prepared and divided, which made us enjoy traveling from city to city. The New Year’s Eve that we spent at the Hard Rock Café was excellent. The participation of the guides was essential, with special mention to Carlos, who accompanied us in Oporto, by his historical knowledge and professionalism. Since we travelled as a family and all together, we didn’t have any problem entering or exiting Europe. The required documentation was only the passports and the interview was quick and calm. The journey exceeded our expectations and we just have to thank you for your commitment and participation in all the planning and all the details.

The cruise was very good, good food, good landscapes. We ended up changing our Sunday lunch plans and went up to Gaia, visited the Sandeman Port Wine Cellar (I recommend), and had lunch at a restaurant by the river (A Transmontana, I think). Very Good! I thank you for your help. We got an excellent impression of you. You are now our reference at home for future trips.

I have just returned from Portugal, where I spent marvelous moments with my family and we got to know magnificent places and people!! A big thank you to Paula, from TravelTailors, who was a great help designing our vacation just the way I wanted!!!! I have already told her that I fell in love with Portugal and hope to return shortly to get to know a lot more!!! A big hug and an excellent 2012 to all at TravelTailors! :)

The rooms where we stayed were very pleasant. The food at the hotel restaurant is excellent. The walk through Alqueva was memorable; the cooking workshop was really fun and educational for the ones that participated in it; although the birdwatching activity was interesting and informative, we believe there is room for improvements. In general, the hotel has a huge potential and the staff is extremely attentive and nice. The documentation provided was on time and adequate.

I went to Aldeias do Xisto for the first time and loved it. I stayed in a little village very welcoming, where the people are very nice. I had the chance to try to make homemade goat cheese; we got up early to milk several goats and let it curdle; as this process was occurring, we had an amazing breakfast with homemade jam and some divine eggs. After a lovely walk around the village, we came back to finish our cheese, which was really fun. Right after the cheese making, we went to a family's the house in a nearby village, where we made bread, and cooked it in an outdoor wood oven, so that we could eat it with the cheese. It was a really fun day, that I hope I can relive with my family.

To discover Portugal and, especially, the historical villages of the countryside made it possible for me to find the soul of a country with priceless cultural and natural heritage. The people (and their absence) marked me by their profound and strong roots to their land. People marked by the nostalgia of golden times and determined to not let go of the Portuguese identity.

I think the Pousada of Valença is a destiny that I recommend to everyone for every ocasion. It´s an historical site, calm, relaxing, beautiful view, close to other interesing places, good service, nice ambient and space.
